How Much Money Successful Bloggers Are Making Online?
I am new to blogging and I do this part-time. I still keep my full time job - 8 hours a day, 5 days a week - doing software development task. One of the things I keep saying to myself is that when my online adventures generate me a nice income, I will quit my job. Do you play similar kind of thought in your mind?
How come I made such though? Is there really a fortune in blogging? How much money can we potentially earn from blogging? To answer these series of questions it will be a big help to know how much money successful bloggers are making online. Their blogs will be our learning tool. Their successes will be our inspiration and their income will serve as our motivation.
First, let's consider johnchow.com. John made a disclosure about his income for his blog for the month of December 2006. According to him...
December isn't the best time for the year when it comes to Internet traffic. People are thinking about gifts and spending time with family than surfing the Internet. As a result of the holidays, the blog received just 94,697 visitors and 184,640 page views. This is well off the 217,876 unique visitors and 329,853 page views posted in November.
With traffic down by over 145,000 page views, you think income would be down by a proportionate amount. However, I'm happy to report that despite the huge drop in traffic, the blog still beat the record $2,123.93 ($693.36 from Google Adsense) November income.
Steve Pavlina is another successful blogger. He made also made online income disclosure from StevePavlina.com. He said...
At the end of 2005, StevePavlina.com was generating $2-3K/month in income. A year later it's now generating $30-40K/month. The income will probably fluctuate a lot in 2007 as I make further changes to the business model next year, but it's solidly in the five figures per month range, and the expenses are still minimal.
Another data that will give us idea about how much successful bloggers are making money online is from the survey conducted by Darren of Problogger.net. He conducted a series of survey among his readers on how much money they made from Google Adsense alone. In one of the result he said...
5% of ProBlogger readers using AdSense (a total of 45 readers) earned over $10,000 last month from Adsense. If November can be viewed as a normal month this means around 5% of you are on track for a $120,000 year in 2006.
Now you know what made me think quiting my job. It's all because I see bright future in blogging. When I quit my job to be a full time blogger it will mean just one thing - I am making trice my job's income from blogging while doing it part-time.
Good luck to all of you. Believe me, you can turn your blog into money making machine.
